2018 From the Edge

These paintings are a revelation of subterranean tumult. Mackey went on-site in locales as far-flung as Iceland and Texas to gather imagery for these paintings. She conducted interviews with geologists and hydrologists about human interventions with land, and the ripple effect of those actions. These paintings attempt to push beyond the limited scope of one human lifespan.
